Getting older helps - he's what, almost 30? Plus having won previous few tournaments has helped. PDC will probably offer advice as well.
Van Gerwen in the 2013 World Championship final missed 2 darts for a 5-2 lead. At 2-1 to MvG in legs in that 7th set, MvG missed double 19 for a 158 outshot, and then missed a double 16 in the next leg for another 100+ outshot chance.paolo2144 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 11:35 pm Great final with two best players in tournament both playing to a really high standard.
In many ways it reminded me of the Van Gerwen v Taylor final in 2013 where MvG was 4-2 up in sets and missed dart at D16 at 2-2 in that set which would have put him 5-2 up.
After that Taylor, just like Luke Humphries tonight, got stronger and stronger as match went on and from 4-2 down he won last 5 sets in a row.
Humphries seems like a decent guy and young Luke if he can keep his head right and feet in the ground could become an all time great but let's just see.
If Elle Brooke plays I willoche balboa wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 11:39 pm Steve Brown getting giddy and called for Influencer darts

Just for you my friend.HalloweenJack wrote: ↑Tue Jan 02, 2024 11:43 pmFair play to him. If only he could come on here after the event and brag to everyone.
MVG as you know it , doesn't exist .terrencetibbs wrote: ↑Wed Jan 03, 2024 11:45 pm So Humphries has dominated darts all year and is world number 1 and MVG hasn't won the worlds now for 5yrs yet he will still probably be the false favourite with bookmakers again for the major events next year.

Probably yes. 2021 and 2022 aren't even in contention because of behind closed doors and Covid expulsions respectively.

As Bobby George stated about one game "it's rubbish, but I enjoyed it".

Me? Instead of watching darts I am going to read a book.
At the weekend? Some nice outdoor walks.![]()
I'm pretty clueless about his F1 career in the 70s. Hence why I bought the book.
