Even those who truly hate him have to admit he's world class.
How come 3 players averaged more than him tonight then. I agree he will probably win the tournament now by virtue of of 1 of the easiest draws known to man only hope is Whitlock replicating his form tonight

Can just about handle him winning these types of titles, we've seen him win big ones before, but I wouldn't be able to bear him winning the Worlds...

He wont mate unless he has a favorable draw Wright,MVG will always have the measure of him in at best off 11 or 13 sets as they are far more consistent

Whitlock Chizzy final please. Spare me another "dancing" muppet from the low lands winning after The Incident in July.

Certainly not the final
+1

I can live with Best of 5 for the Quarters as they want to fit them all in 1 session. Although I would like a Tiebreak in the last set.

But there was absolutely no reason to reduce the Semi and Final.

I think Safc has some adjusting to do. Reality is a terrible thing and I hate it too but on this occasion I'm quite happy about it.

I think there was probably some reason, lol. I think cutting the final was so Sky could make it fit more easily on Super League Grand Final night, and then the semi-finals were reduced accordingly. The Gurney-Whitlock final still went 23-18 which is a marathon by any measure and lasted forever.

2x best of 7 sets wouldn't pass for a session at the Worlds. In fact with these SF/F lengths they could play all three on the same night.

It's been best of 15/13/11/9 at various times. https://www.pdc.tv/players/pdc-roll-honour

The first one was best of 25, 3 legs per set. Who knows.

When you look at legs played it's still comparable to Blackpool but I dont like abreviating formats
