Re: World Grand Prix 2020
How come 3 players averaged more than him tonight then. I agree he will probably win the tournament now by virtue of of 1 of the easiest draws known to man only hope is Whitlock replicating his form tonight

Can just about handle him winning these types of titles, we've seen him win big ones before, but I wouldn't be able to bear him winning the Worlds...Safc wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:38 pmAbsolutely never and as long as I have a hole in my arse he will never win the worldsMalanax wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:37 pmThe next few years is gonna be a terrible time for you when he hoovers up many titles, just get on the price band wagon now save yourself some stress

He wont mate unless he has a favorable draw Wright,MVG will always have the measure of him in at best off 11 or 13 sets as they are far more consistentthegentle wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:47 pmCan just about handle him winning these types of titles, we've seen him win big ones before, but I wouldn't be able to bear him winning the Worlds...Safc wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:38 pmAbsolutely never and as long as I have a hole in my arse he will never win the worldsMalanax wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:37 pmThe next few years is gonna be a terrible time for you when he hoovers up many titles, just get on the price band wagon now save yourself some stress

I know youre talking set play but he beat Anderson mvg n Wright in a row to win the 2019 grand slam there's literally no harder draw possibleSafc wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:52 pmHe wont mate unless he has a favorable draw Wright,MVG will always have the measure of him in at best off 11 or 13 sets as they are far more consistentthegentle wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:47 pmCan just about handle him winning these types of titles, we've seen him win big ones before, but I wouldn't be able to bear him winning the Worlds...Safc wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 11:38 pmAbsolutely never and as long as I have a hole in my arse he will never win the worlds

Whitlock Chizzy final please. Spare me another "dancing" muppet from the low lands winning after The Incident in July.
The only Mervert in town.

+1
I can live with Best of 5 for the Quarters as they want to fit them all in 1 session. Although I would like a Tiebreak in the last set.
But there was absolutely no reason to reduce the Semi and Final.

I think Safc has some adjusting to do. Reality is a terrible thing and I hate it too but on this occasion I'm quite happy about it.

Re: World Grand Prix 2020
I think there was probably some reason, lol. I think cutting the final was so Sky could make it fit more easily on Super League Grand Final night, and then the semi-finals were reduced accordingly. The Gurney-Whitlock final still went 23-18 which is a marathon by any measure and lasted forever.Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 2:40 am+1

2x best of 7 sets wouldn't pass for a session at the Worlds. In fact with these SF/F lengths they could play all three on the same night.

It's been best of 15/13/11/9 at various times. https://www.pdc.tv/players/pdc-roll-honourRandall wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 9:15 amFinal was originally best of 15 if memory servesRogg wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 9:06 am Leg scores in the six WGP finals since they cut the format. When you look at legs played it's still comparable to Blackpool but I dont like abreviating formatsRogg wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 9:19 amIt's been best of 15/13/11/9 at various times. https://www.pdc.tv/players/pdc-roll-honourRandall wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 9:15 amFinal was originally best of 15 if memory servesRogg wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 9:06 am Leg scores in the six WGP finals since they cut the format.
