I’m fully aware, this is based on if they did as some of the people here have proposed they should in the yet to be released new qualification criteria

Dobey – 3 PCs
Heta - 2 PCs

1 PC
Clayton
Noppert
Searle
R Smith
Dolan
Van Barneveld
Menzies
Soutar
Plaisier
Thanks! So we're saying 24 plus those 11 = 35.

In which case a 48-player event should easily to be able to scoop them all up and still leave room for a fat floor qualifier.
So which 13 would you go with?
You want me to pick 13 stray players to come through last year's floor qualifier? An interesting request!
Cullen, Asp, Licey, Jose, Jeff Swan, Kim, Flo, Dirk, Ricky Evans, Dick Veins, Buttons, Tricole, Turetta.

Rogg wrote: Mon Jan 27, 2025 11:20 pm I haven't listened back (or properly) yet to the Hearn interview but I think he said they're looking at 'more players' into the GSoD. Even if he didn't say that, we can ponder it.

Would everyone go mental if they scrapped the groups? Thinking about it now, the group stage uses 6 sessions and 48 games to eliminate just 16 players. Maybe all that time could be used more effectively to involve more than 32 players? Ponder.
48 players

Pot 1
16 TV winners/runners up in order of ranking. If you can't get 16, take from the ET winners in rank order.

Pot 2
16 ET and PC winners in rank order. ET winners are top priority and then PC winners. If you can't get 16, take ET runners up in rank order.

Pot 3
16- 8 floor qualifiers (force the Qualifiers to be in Pot 3, not pot 1 if they somehow are ranked top 8), and the other 8 as usual (1 CDC, 1 Asian, 1 CT, 1 DT, 2 women and the 2 Youth finalists- If Van Veen wins something else then lowest in Pot 2 drops down etc).

16 groups with 3 each, winner makes it out.

Rough Schedule

Friday night- Group 1-8 first matches

Saturday afternoon- Group 9-16 first matches
Saturday night- Group 1-8 second matches

Sunday afternoon- Group 9-16 second matches
Sunday night- Group 1-8 third matches

Monday night- Group 9-16 third matches

Tuesday night- 4 x L16

Wednesday night- 4 x L16

Thursday night- 2 x QF

Friday night- 2 x QF

Saturday night- 2 x SF

Sunday night- Final

- Or if you insist, you can keep the schedule the same and start Saturday afternoon and have the awful semis and final on the Sunday.

- Also eliminates players going up against a group rival in the QF.
This could be happening now

Anyone want to guess the GSOD criteria now

My personal opinion the Top 16 will be involved regardless of their form
