Group of 3 is not a group just like dry humping is not a shag
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

Same number of group games. 16 group winners go through. The alleged problem of players meeting twice solves itself.

How they get to 48 players will be interesting BUT there's not an issue for top players to not be involved

It probably means that everybody who wins a ranked event will actually get in now which is only fair. I'd imagine a few more jobbers I mean floor qualifiers as well

How many spots would have been needed last year to include everybody who met the broad qualifying criteria? Apologies in advance to the people who have already posted such a list and I've lost it.

Thanks! So we're saying 24 plus those 11 = 35.

In which case a 48-player event should easily to be able to scoop them all up and still leave room for a fat floor qualifier.

If we expand it further Nijman won a PC, so Springer is the highest non qualified dev tour player

Noppert wouldn’t be at the Qualifier, nor Menzies, nor Ross Smith

It would be satisfying as viewers to know for certain that the winner of the event you're watching will be at the Slam. It would add a nice extra. Plus the people who hate the floor qualifier would have less hating to do.
