Also looking forward to Hearn using the ticket selling point to justify moving it to Riyadh where it will sell worse than the O2 sideroom did.

A flat draw would deminish the value of the tc if the pro tour #1 can just be killed off by one of the top guns in R1. It wont happen.

Oh! Sky Sports. Or Whoever is showing the Worlds next year has agreed to this obviously, so they now know who is showing it. 8 extra sessions.

Should be an achievement to qualify for the Worlds. This makes it too easy, football are expanding their World Cup and it will be a dire spectacle

I thought you would be in delight at having more countries at the football world cup. You like the weirder deeper reaches of the game.TheMalteseDart wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 7:39 pmShould be an achievement to qualify for the Worlds. A rumour broke on Twitter recently that the Snooker Worlds will move to Saudi in 2028.
I suspect it's only a matter of time [a few years or so] before Porter and Hearn attempt to switch the PDC Worlds to Saudi too.
The day the world stood still:

+1
I suspect it'll be at least 8 more TC holders, maybe 16
Extra international qualifiers could be
- 1/2 more women
- 1/2 more CDC
- 2 more N+B
- Should be no more Asians imo but could be another 1/2- maybe just have 4 Asia Tour, Asia Champion and random one-off qualifiers for each of the World Cup countries- Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong and Bahrain
- South East Qualifier (the Italy, Austria, Greece one)
- South West Qualifier (the Spain, France, Portugal one)
- Tom Kirby restoration maybe?
- Probably another African
- Maybe a Development Tour Qualifier for young players without a card?
- JDC Qualifier perhaps assuming they're 16

I still think the pinnacle event should be kept for the best teams. I think when Panama made the World Cup with 32 teams it was a huge achievement and a massive shock in that region, with 48 they probably have a very good chance and it just doesn’t mean as much I don’t think.Rogg wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 7:55 pmI thought you would be in delight at having more countries at the football world cup. I like more opportunity for the smaller nations but I don’t think making more spots available in the top tier event is the answer

I agree. 64 would be ideal but 96 is fine

I wouldn't mind more TC holders at the World Championships
I do agree though that it should be reserved for the elite and it waters it down if any old cunt can make it. Part of the fun is the jeopardy if you miss out or ecstasy if you sneak in and no more.
However, some reasons to have more players-
- Makes the tour card race more exciting if more players are involved
- Get to see new players more often (in theory)
- Makes Q School even more important
- Negates the Euro Tour rule change by not punishing players who don't qualify as much as they used to

I know we have discussed it but i think the extra 32 places should go
16 more players from the Pro Tour
1 more woman
4 from the Development tour
4 from Asian Tour
1 more from Africa
4 from CDC Rankings
2 from Nordic

That seems very believable for how it will be distributed.oche balboa wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 8:22 pm I know we have discussed it but i think the extra 32 places should go
