The forum banter and Twitter meltdowns were tons of fun.

And you used to get decent match-ups you wouldn't usually see (Wright vs Duzza in 2017 for example)

Was that same year or maybe 2016 when Gando played Noppert in last 16 with Noppy still representing BDO family

Noppy barely missed a double all game it was fantastic Gando only won narrowly in a great contest
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

This was 2016 actually. Hay day of the BDO #goldenperiod when 5 players progressed from the group stage

Noppert lost 10-9 to Gando
Hughes lost 10-9 to Dobey
Duzza lost 10-7 to Barney
Jeff Smith lost 10-5 to Taylor
Fitton lost 10-3 to Wright

Yes they were outclassed in last 16 but still some brave displays. Hughes topped a group with Chizzy and Wade in it. Noppert beat Mensur. Fitton beat D.Webster and White. J.Smith beat Whitlock

Slam

Meh
Any reason why u prefer European and PCF over the Slam ?
Slam lost a lot of its appeal when the BDO folded/faded completely.
Fair enough.

I do still like the format however.

Nice try.

Considering the difference between the codes at that point it was a very respectable display

Waites won two 'world' titles averaging 86. Nuff said.

Forever gutted he never switched. A fine player on his day. Who knows where he'd be without the injury

Shame he tried PDC and even had some decent results. But left it far too late

Hopefully. I really like Jonny but Aspinall winning a title like this would be amazing and something I didn’t see coming tbh
