Other than the peak versions of Taylor and the 2017/2018 version of Van Goblin, I don't think any darts player in history has the consistently and ability to dominate this field. There is too much depth and talent. Off-games are easily punished.

Have often read the posts on here during major competitions.
I've felt that Rob Cross has been heading back towards the player he was in 2017, maybe I'm wrong but he looks better.
Mike Smith certainly gone up a few notches since becoming a major winner and world champ.
A bit of resolve and maturity to compliment his natural talent.

All part of the rich tapestry
I think everyone would be happy to see 2017 Cross back
Ha ha , yes I've read this forum enough to ' get ' the humour ( I think ) there's some ' in speak ' between regular members which sometimes takes a bit of interpreting (?) But all good humoured.
Thanks

That's a well informed take.
Re Smith , you often find that the ' main guy ' at any sport at any time has that air of ' over my dead body ' about them once they're at their peak and they're number 1 .
They find a way to win when not quite at their best.
I don't see that in Smith.

If they put Dobey in ahead of Noppie or Smudger it's a disgrace. So that is what I expect them to do.
