4 players there who are still in. Though Wade, Whitlock and Chizzy might be out soon enough.

Not really "still" as far as Simon Whitlock is concerned. Whitlock was briefly world number 3 after the 2014 World Championship, his peak ranking. He was number 4 at the time of the 2014 World Matchplay when reaching the semi finals. He then crashed down with a horrible 2 years afterwards, going out of the top 20. He has done very well to work his way back up into the top 10, and not go the way of Andy Hamilton and Wes Newton.

The irony is that Whitlock used to be Mr. Consistent. Now he's the opposite, going all over the place in terms of consistency.

When was Whitlock out of the top 20, and how far exactly did he fall? I know he was seeded 17th going into the 2017 Worlds, didn't know he fell any further

Went down into the low 20s, I believe. He had already started to climb back up before the 2017 World Championship. He hit the lowest ranking wise after the 2016 World Matchplay, after the money from his 2014 World Matchplay semi final came off the Order of Merit (the last ranking event before his slump).

He has potential for top 16... I was just listening to Burton on the dartscast and he was suggesting top 32
Within a year and top 16 within two more when he gains the experience of doing the tour...
I was thinking about it while listening to the show and He could very well end up like the new Mensur, as his style will not make the top players like playing him and he seems to have that same sort of Mensur mentality.

I can only hope someone like Ratajski will HAVE to be more consistent to get into the top 10 than someone like Whitlock is now

Top 5 were pretty easy really, three fairly young guys at the top of the game now, as well as the two best prospects (assuming Cadby can actually base himself in England, that's surely the only thing stopping him). There are any number of guys who could be towards the bottom of that top 10. If I had to guess at any Mensur/Wright types that spring from relative obscurity, pffft, maybe Clemens? Joyce?

Can't say I ever guessed Noppy would win a TV title, but it looks like an inspired throwaway guess to round off the top 10 in January next year!

De Zwaan will need to do a lot of work for Thorn and gentle to be right regarding him

Whilst he didn’t put him in his top 10 I respect Gentles shout of Joyce as a possibility, a true connoisseur of the game

Interesting looking back to see how quickly darts can change, Hopp and De Zwaan seem ridiculous shouts now but at the time there probably weren’t many arguments against, more likely to start 2023 without tour cards than being in the top 10

Barring something truly gobsmacking, it seems MvG will still be in the top 10, although I never thought he'd fall to #5 so soon! Cross looks like he might just about hang on to his spot within the top 10 (hasn't he dropped just outside once before?)
Cadby always had the talent, but perhaps it was always wishful thinking to suggest he would ever get his life back on track
Smith looks secure in the top 10 even if a major still eludes him
Dimitri has been as high as #5, but is in very real danger of dropping out
Really thought de Zwaan would be legit, but it's likely he'll lose his card, Hopp the same but to a lesser extent. Didn't think Gurney would sink to around the 20 mark, unfortunately Price went the other way...
