Should Fallon get an invitational Tour Card?
I think if we want to discuss whether Fallon Sherrock should be in the PL or not, this is the question we need to ask first.
Here's my view on it.
I think Fallon should get an invitational Tour Card. The PDC has done similar invitations in the past, for example for BDO Worlds finalists, or when they did the Women's Worlds in 2010. Similarly, the snooker tour has dealt out invitational Tour Cards to Jimmy White and Ken Doherty a bunch of times now, and also to Marco Fu and Stephen Hendry in recent years, because of their contributions to the snooker world.
As a side note, I wouldn't mind it if the winner of the Women's Series would get a Tour Card in the same way that the winners of the Challenge and Development tours get one.

Re: Should Fallon get an invitational Tour Card?
I have to say no because of my principles. My view hasn't changed on this. It's one thing to put people into PL and World Series events and it's another to put them in ranking events. Get her in the PL fine but make her earn that tour card. No, I don't care that the PL players supposedly need to have a card, that's a throwaway rule that can be changed.
If the Women's Series winner were to get a card from next year, that would be fine. Especially as I think they are expanding the Women's Series now. But it shouldn't work retrospectively.

No
The tour itself shouldn't be sacrificed at the alter

I'd think she'd want to get in purely based on merit. So no, let her eventually get there, be it this year or the next.

No, she should earn her tour card. If the PDC decide to award one for winning the Women's Series from next year onwards fair enough. She should not retrospectively be awarded a card for achievements thus far. I wouldn't be overly surprised if she was to win enough prize money at GSOD & the worlds to get a card outright though as she can clearly play to a good standard and has big stage temperament.

Valid point but I'm on about her Marketability rather then the status and use that as an excuse then change the rules

The money at the gsod and Worlds wouldn't count on a merit table without a tour card?

Oh
I'm surprised at that
So how far does she need to go at this and the Worlds to just get one automatically anyway?

If that list is correct in that it is official, it looks like the getting to the semi finals in the GSOD along with her Worlds money would put her just inside the top 64 going into the worlds (haven't bothered to check about other calculations of other players).

Probably going to have to beat Mensur and WrightThe Gronk wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 3:26 pm If that list is correct in that it is official, it looks like the getting to the semi finals in the GSOD along with her Worlds money would put her just inside the top 64 going into the worlds (haven't bothered to check about other calculations of other players).
Over best of 19 maybe mensur, especially if he freezes again
31 against Wright is a big ask

Re: Should Fallon get an invitational Tour Card?
Very true, but if she gets past Mensur (very possible), neither Wright or De Sousa have been on top form recently. If she plays her best and they don't it is a coin flip. Although like you say 31 legs is a big ask.Randall wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 3:29 pmProbably going to have to beat Mensur and WrightThe Gronk wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 3:26 pm If that list is correct in that it is official, it looks like the getting to the semi finals in the GSOD along with her Worlds money would put her just inside the top 64 going into the worlds (haven't bothered to check about other calculations of other players).

Actually that wouldn't be a bad idea. As long as they turn up to play the events

Re: Should Fallon get an invitational Tour Card?
According to the Tour Card Race, it can be summarized as this:The Gronk wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 3:26 pm If that list is correct in that it is official, it looks like the getting to the semi finals in the GSOD along with her Worlds money would put her just inside the top 64 going into the worlds (haven't bothered to check about other calculations of other players).
If Sherrock reaches the final she's got it.
If she reaches the semi-final, she's got 47.5k with a first round loss at the Worlds. I think it's going to be super close this way. She may be the 65th player that gets a TC when Gary quits the tour for example (which I think he may).
If she reaches the quarters, she would need to reach the third round at the Worlds for 45k. Again this would be super close.
If she loses to Suljovic tomorrow, a fourth round exit at the Worlds is also 45k.
So she probably needs to win three if not four matches more in this GS and the Worlds total.
