Re: PDC World Cup
I'd like to see the Philippines and Croatia get invited this year, but I doubt it's going to happen,
so I'll probably root for the good ol' USA.
Let's see. How does that chant go?

Re: PDC World Cup
I remember darin young kicking Adrian lewis' ass last year. 4-1
then in 2012 Adrian Lewis kicked Darin young's ass 4-3,
but Gary Mawson kicked Phil Taylor's ass 4-3
This tournie clashes with the world stage #3 in France, be interesting to see how that plays out & who plays where among the soft tippers.

I assume it will be Taylor and Lewis for England. Chizzy should be there but wont be.
Gary Anderson and Martin Phillips for Scotland?

I'll be happy if we get to play either England, the Netherlands or the Scots.
hopefully all three.

The lineup, as announced by Sky (https://twitter.com/SkySportsDarts) on Twitter
NED - Raymond van Barneveld & Michael van Gerwen
ENG - Phil Taylor & Adrian Lewis
SCO - Gary Anderson & Peter Wright
WAL - Mark Webster & Jamie Lewis
IRE - Connie Finnan & William O'Connor
NIR - Brendan Dolan & Daryl Gurney (despite other claims on Twitter that Michael Mansell confirmed being in the NIR team)
GER - Jyhan Artut & Max Hopp
AUS - Simon Whitlock & Paul Nicholson
SPA - Cristo Reyes & Antonio Alcinas
CAN - John Part & Ken MacNeil
RSA - Devon Petersen & Graham Filby
AUT - Mensur Suljovic & Rowby-John Rodriguez
SIN - Paul Lim & Harith Lim
BEL - Kim Huybrechts & Ronny Huybrechts
JAP - Haruki Muramatsu & Morihiro Hashimoto
That's 15 countries accounted for so far. I think there are supposed to be 32 in total?

Re: PDC World Cup
Fewer dark horses these days with the demise of the aussie pair, be better with Anderson.
Nobody will want to draw Spain of the lesser teams.
Thornton must be Pissed off losing out to a fake.
Can't see beyond Holland or Scotland.

Re: PDC World Cup
Would have liked to see a few different names, like MvG+VvdV for the Dutch pairing, Kyle Anderson for Australia (really, current Aussie lineup is pretty shit), Gerwyn Price for Wales. Maybe next year I guess.

Re: PDC World Cup
finnan and O Connor both in decent enough form, especially willie who only for a couple of awful first round sraws against the top players has been picking up decent victories
Wales likewise, Webster too back to some great form and Lewis has been excellent lately....2 dangerous dark horses as Taylor is poor and lewis inconsistent
Wright and Ando are not known for their consistency either

OoM yes.
Therein lies another problem with a 2 year OoM.
No way is Nicholson better than Kyle Anderson at the moment, is taylor and lewis the best performing english players ? Doubtful

Re: PDC World Cup
Wright has been in pretty good form lately outside the premier league, handful of floor wins, a bunch of semis, UK Open final etc. And Ando has been having a pretty good run of major wins recently. Wouldn't count out Scotland.
Taylor hasn't been exactly winning but when he does win games he does it convincingly (aside from the floor games last week). If he's in a winning mood he can basically carry himself and Lewis far into the tournament. Wouldn't surprised if they reached the semis or final this way.
Australia is just shit. When's the last time either one of these players won a game on TV?
Wales players have indeed been in good form lately. Can see them making an impression. Ireland too, O'Connor in particular.
And of course the Netherlands will be favorites, MvG in good form (despite losing the PL final), and Barney should also be good if he brings his can't-lose form from the PL with him.
Interested to see how some other countries like Germany (Hopp), Spain (Reyes), South Africa (Petersen) or Austria (Suljovic) will do with each of their "star" players who have been rising on the tour this year.

For England, I'd go with Chizzy and Taylor for the top two. Lewis is inconsistent, Wade hasn't shown much form outside of floor comps, and I wouldn't rate either of King/Jenkins/Smith/Bunting/etc over Taylor at the moment.

Re: PDC World Cup
Considering there has been nothing really bar the PL and it was obvious Wade gave up in that long ago I would still say wade is playing as well as lewis or taylor, certainly on the floor and if you take away the pl exbo Where taylor was as poor as wade. its really close.Mothy wrote:I'd say Kyle Anderson is better than both Whitlock and Nicholson at the moment.Justin Credible wrote:OoM yes.

Re: PDC World Cup
The Scandinavian representatives (according to the SDC anyway) are
DENMARK: Per Laursen & Per Skau
FINLAND: Kim Viljanen & Marko Kantele
NORWAY: Robert Wagner & Vegar Elvevoll
SWEDEN: Magnus Caris & Daniel Larsson
So once the Northern Ireland team is confirmed that should be them all
