Decent viewing for Sky considering is a pay channel and no surprise the 2007 WC final brought in the most viewers

Straight away you can see that in 12 years lakeside has lost almost 50% of its viewers from that of 12years ago...thats a serious drop.

Can understand why the PDC Euro;s are fluctuating so much, with no set structure tv wise for a number of years.
As fior the pdc WC its on an upward spiral in general.

That is a big drop for the BBC. Wonder why? It's not as if the Sky figures make up the difference.

It was a huge drop. Made even sweeter by the fact the BDO tweeted the night after the final this year that they got 3.4m viewers and 3 times more than the PDC version. Fail!
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

They tweeted that? Very silly from several angles.

There are obviously many factors involved in these figures.
Suprisingly even the PDC world championship final used to be on midweek and possibly swapping major finals between ssp1,2 and even 3 may effect overall figures.
But one reason i'd say is that the PDC comps on SKY as a whole seem to get push more every year with more coverage, trailers, adverts, even gimmicks like HD and now 3D where as the BBC seem to be intent on showing less and spreading the word less.

You can say that about most TV shows to be honest. To top the TV charts in 1999 you needed 20m plus viewers now it is just 9m. Corrie has less than half of what it had. Terrestrial channels are all going down as more channels arrive. You will always see an increase in Sky Viewing figures and a drop in BBC/ITV etc

And if it was vice versa the figures would be the same.

Fact remains that BBC coverage will always outstrip PPV as far as viewing figures are concerned.
