The scots already have their own identity and heritage but as to leaving the Uk. would seem pointless.

I guess like northern Ireland they want the best of both worlds, being part of the UK but not fully independent.

dont you call me a toad ya twat! and why should I resign.... oh hang on

I agree :)

It amazes me that people actually think they could be better off by breaking up the union, just look at the former Russian and Yugoslavian states along with ex colonies who all believed they would be better off out of the union. Together the UK is a world power but separate we are absolutely fek all and will be swallowed up by Eurocrats.

Salmond is a very dangerous man, no surprise they're allowing 16 years old to vote so he can get all the neds to vote yes

Scotland will be fucked if they went independent

So would England. We'd have a permanent Tory majority. I like the theory of independence for both England and Scotland, but the practicalities are horrendous.

I agree with that, Salmond is only interested in his own agenda which is keeping himself in the public spotlight

Don't want ya after that!

The UK is different to what happened in the states, the union is older and people are treated the same. In the colonies it was not unusual for tax to be considerably higher than "at home" making it grossly unfair and creating a them and us atmosphere which fans the flames if independence.
