I've travelled this country extensively and still this is the best I've had. The Blue Dolphin in Hastings and the first thing I'm doing when I get down there on Monday is heading there for lunch.
The fish is sourced here
http://www.hastingsfish.co.uk/fishmarket.htm spuds from local farmers. Can't be beat!

You eat out of dustbins?
One year I got a bike for my birthday. So I went peddling off down the road and knocked an old lady down.
'Can't you ring your bell?' She said. 'I can ring my bell,' I said 'But I can't ride my bike'

Ha ha Micko, the gulls down there are brazen mate.
Was down there years ago with Betty and the kids eating chips on the beach. A gull swooped down and knocked Hammy's out of his hand

Thank God for that. For a minute there I thought the ale was beginning to take it's toll

When it's done well it's the food of gods.
I'll be bringing back a load of fresh fish and freezing it down on the day it's been landed. Make my own batter and it's better than anything th eshops round here do. Thin and crispy instead of loads and soggy

Fucking gorgeous mate. What most don't know it's already cooked before you put it on the pan. All your doing is frying the flavour out of it

Would eat it like that when I was a kid, don't think I would try it now though.
