For my wedding day myself and the better half cut the cake with a sword presented to us from the restaurant we had our reception at.

We offered the use of the sword to my brother at his recent wedding and engraved the sword with both couples names and dates.

On Saturday it is my parents 40th wedding anniversary and the replica wedding cake will be cut with the aforementioned sword. I believe it should be engraved with their original wedding date while the Mrs believes it should commerate their anniversary.

Advice please.
