Bad show chaps, bad show!

One year I got a bike for my birthday. So I went peddling off down the road and knocked an old lady down.
'Can't you ring your bell?' She said. 'I can ring my bell,' I said 'But I can't ride my bike'

As far as I know there's no laws about swimming in the Thames

Public order offence, just the same as running onto the field of play during a football match.

Football's different mate, it's a specific offence to run onto a football pitch. There isn't one about swimming in the Thames and how could swimming in the Thames affect public order?Knots & crosses wrote:Public order offence, just the same as running onto the field of play during a football match.

It's been set aside for the specific event. If someone ran onto the course for the London marathon & tripped the winner, are you saying they shouldn't be arrested because it happened on a stretch of what is normally dual carriageway?

Not the same thing mate. Being honest I have no interest whatsoever in the boat race and didn't know it was on till I saw my Mum and it was on her TV.

That's common assault at least mate, hardly the same as taking a dip in the Thames

Re: Bad show chaps, bad show!
i dont see how swimming in a non private body of water can be against the law either, a football pitch is a totally different kettle of fish.

if someone invades a public highway during the onset of a private event such as the boat race or marathon, they will be arrested, just the same as someone pitch invading.M H wrote:Not the same thing mate. no it isn't. There is no specific law that governs football stadia. If that were the case, it would be trespass, not public order.Darth Randall wrote:i dont see how swimming in a non private body of water can be against the law either, a football pitch is a totally different kettle of fish.

Disorderly behaviour is an offence in all 3 sections.
