Fiddling......

Post by D & B » Sat Mar 10, 2012 12:31 am

Been having a tinker with my shafts.

Started off using gripper II, but found them very brittle and was going through a set every practice session.

Recently changed to an old style plain plastic shaft, over the last two weeks my scoring has been truely awful (yes it can get worse).

Yesterday I installed a set of aluminium shafts (freebie from mad4sports) and it feels good again, can changing the shafts really have that much affect or am I just mental?

Changing your shafts will change a fair bit. Strange question, but we're they different lengths?

Yes mate, a tad shorter with the aluminium shafts and a noticeable difference in weight.

The length of shaft (ooer) has a big effect on my game. I use nylons short and like to feel the flight against the back of my hand, any longer and it just doesn't feel right.

I too use nylon shorts. But only on the weekends.
