why couldn't i start how i finished

Just got back from a tournament in Birmingham and I'm a little frustrated. Lost my first 2 games 3-0 and played like a muppet (all of them in fact). Last game was a nothing game. But I went 2-0 up and seemingly couldn't miss the treble 20. He pulled it back to 2-2 but I took out a 16 dart leg to win.

My group was tough but if I'd started how I finished I would have got out with few problems. But I had a few drinks, caught up with some friends and had a very enjoyable afternoon which is what I needed
