Hillsborough Debate In The House Of Commons
This is going to happen tonight as a result of an online poll but I really can't see the point. How are the small number of MPs likely to take part going to change anything and what the hell will they vote on?
Yes I think that dads and lads going to a match and never going home is tragic and it's obvious mistakes were made on the day. But what can possibly be achieved by this as the lessons have already been learned?

What's left to disclose Knots? Isn't the cause already known?

That depends. Have you read the documents that haven't been disclosed?

Of course not mate but surely the cause is already clear. Too many people were allowed in by the police and as a consequence 96 people were crushed to death. The people running through the gates were never to know what would happen next, those controlling the gates should have.

If it brings then end to all the of the "justice for the 96" stuff then I hope everything gets released.
But cant help thinking nothing new will come of this and this will go on for another 20 years.

If that was your son/dad/brother you would probably want as much information as possible.

Listening to the debate so far it appears my summation is correct mate. The Police at the time tried to cover up they're failings but no I wouldn't want more information. The last minutes of the 96 would have been full of fear and panic, personally I'd need to move on like I have when I've lost loved ones.Knots & crosses wrote:but if you don't know, you can't say for sure.M H wrote:Of course not mate but surely the cause is already clear. Re: Hillsborough Debate In The House Of Commons
the faster liverpool people accept it was caused by the greed of liverpool fans trying to get into a stadium for free, the faster they can move on.
They have whinged at everyone for over 2 decades who dared to suggest it was their own fans that were responsible but in true poor mouth scouse fashion they decided to blame everyone else .

I dunno. The timescale makes it more difficult. I'd rather it had come out at the time.M H wrote:Listening to the debate so far it appears my summation is correct mate. At the time yes but not after twenty years Knots. Living in the past for that long is really self destructive.Knots & crosses wrote:I dunno. The timescale makes it more difficult. Gaz, I said earlier that those running through the gates didn't have a clue of the ultimate outcome of their actions. The people that opened the gates did or at least should have, they were the ones in control and ultimately liable. If they weren't in control why were they there?

There's no harm to disclosing the documents then.

I still see nothing to be gained Knots. The Police fucked up and then covered up, Oche's favourite paper did what they usually do and ignored the truth. Surely it's obvious and also obvious that nothing will really come out of tonight?

Re: Hillsborough Debate In The House Of Commons
this is the issue, had the fans not try and force themselves in for free it never would have happened.Typical scousers blame everyone else.M H wrote:

Maybe the stewards should not have left them in, in the end it was the fans that crushed other fans and the blame lies with them.
