Re: Old Darts Photoshoot
Hard to imagine now that Dennis Smith might've been considered one of the big name players worth using in the shoot.

Wasn't on how good they were, they just chose the best looking players.

Presumably the Steve Beaton pics were just too hot to print?Dartfrog wrote:Wasn't on how good they were, they just chose the best looking players.

I've no shortage of Beaton-related bodge fodder as it is, thanks. Kind of you to offer though.Dartfrog wrote:No it's just the forum rules dont allow full frontal nudity Raff.

What became of Jamie Harvey, I know in the early days of the PDC he was around the top of the rankings but had sponsorship problems.
Does he still compete?

Hi folks.
My second event since i was diagnosed with throat cancer.
The flight from Edinburgh was only just over an hour. Five of us went over. Myself, Mark Barrilli, Louise Hepburn and Ross Montgomery. We hired a car and drove from Weeze airport to Bochum . Ross did all the driving took us just over an hour. We stayed at the Ibis Hotel which was nice Hotel .
Up early on Saterday morning for the singles, we arrived at the venue about ten for registration. I was now getting a bit nervy.
Well the time came for my game and I went out first round but i enjoyed the game, was beaten 3 1. Had a few chances missed doubles, You just cant miss doubles at these events. This gave me more time to mingle with old dart freinds and get to meet new ones. 2 or 3 other top players were beaten the first round, so i was not the only one..
The tournament itself was run very well. Only problem was how to get a drink was a bit of a shambles, You bought a card at ten pounds, When you ordered a drink they crossed the amount off the card, and gave you a token which they cherged 25cent,When you took your empty glass back and the token you were supposed to get your 25 cent back. But that did not happen, They would not take the token back, Was a bit of a rip off.
Anyway apart from that the tournament went very well, Run very smoothly. As the day went on the tournement was hoting up. It was now down to last 32 and a few top players left. John Walton. Martin Adams. Ted Hanky, Gary Robson , Tony O'Shea and a young boy called Benito Van De Pas.
The next couple of rounds saw a few fall in some great games .
The last 8 was
John Walton V Gary Thompson , Victory to Gary.
Tony O; Shea V Gary Robson. Victory to Tony.
Ted hanky V Benito Van De Pas. Victory to Benito.
GeertDe Vos V Jan Drkker Victory Jan.
Semi final winners were Tony beat Gary and Benito beat Jan in two brilliant games.
The final was fantastic but the young gun just got he better of Tony who was a gentleman in defeat. Losing 3 sets to 2.
The German open champion Benito Van DE pas. Well done and take a bow.
The womans event was a very good standard of play,
Our own loise hepburn gave away her game to Anastasia 3 2, Louise was 2 0 up then missed the doubles unlucky louise, The womens semi final was
Lorraine Farlam V Aileen De Graaf. Victory to Lorraine.
Karen Lawman V Deta Hedman, Victory to Deta,
Great final but deta came out the womans german open winner, well done Deta Hedman, unlucky Lorraine.
My travelling partner Ross montgomery did Scotland proud on Sunday by taking victory in the German Open pairs title with Mr Martin Adams. Well done to all the players winners and losers for a great show in Bochum Germany.
And a big thanks to every body who took time out to talk to me it was most apprciated.
I would like also to say a big thank you to mother and daughter Daphne Brynaart. who i had not seen for 14
years, She was 7 years old and Nancy van den bosch who remembered me from all those years ago, Daphne has grown up to be a very nice and great looking girl. thanks for remembering me.
Well folks thats the German open . night time was a tour of the bars in Bochum, Whats new, Old habit ive never lost. bye for now, See you at another event in the future.
JAMIE BRAVEDART HARVEY. over and out.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x
