Question from a (almost) newbie

Post by sodapop » Mon Dec 04, 2023 6:37 pm

Hi,

I'm Jerome from France, I enjoy watching the darts as much as I can, and I slowly start to know more and more about the players, the history of the game...

My English is not that bad (hopefully), but sometimes I struggle to understand some of the commentaries, or some of the referees lines...
I.E. I sometimes hear the referees say "[surname of a player] requires one hundred" (when a player is on a possible check out), and I quite hear them say the player surname, with a "y" at the end: "DamonY requires one hundred" (as for Damon Heta), or "MichaelY requires one hundred" (as for Michael Smith)...

Is it just me, or this is real ??

Thanks for your insight !
Jerome

I've always wondered who Anne Mash is. She seems to win a hell of a lot of darts games.

Do you mean Anne Frank

That's the tone of the forum really ???
It is pretty pathetical don't you think ?
I bet your French is soooo perfect that everything is crystal clear when you come and try to tan your white bum on the French Riviera; right ?
Ridiculous...

Or maybe you need all the abuse to forget your sad little life ?
Try to find an opened beer from under your torn couch, and drink it between your missing teeth, Chav !

Pretty much until you prove you aren't Smithy or a multiple. Then people mellow a little bit but not much
