Bank Holiday weekend plans

Post by Cooking with Sandra » Fri Aug 25, 2023 11:44 am

Friday - finish work at 16:00, hope I can get a train to Tottenham Court Road with the current strikes, night out in Camden for my mate's 40th.
Saturday - 18 holes to clear the cobwebs, recover.
Sunday - train to Wembley if possible, few scoops at Boxpark, walk over and watch AEW All In.
Monday - more recovery.

Pretty solid one! What are you pricks up to?

No bank holiday here. Saturday afternoon I do have an invitation to one of my mates for a barbecue.

Other than that it will be the usual stuff.

I'm trying to get back into reading as well
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

Started clearing the garden a couple of days ago and got stuck into it today, Pedro from next door invited himself round with a Hoe in hand to help, It started pissing down with rain and the mad fucker was still cutting down the biggest tree that had completely covered and overgrown the shed, Cleared all of the 6-7ft tall weeds and managed to get 3 big building sacks of garden waste to the tip so a productive day.

Tomorrow if its dry then I now have 2 trees that have been cut down to chop up and get to the tip, Apart from that no real plans except for watching some football and the F1.

Shame, it's a great day out. Always try and visit whenever we are back. Happy memories when we were young, camping up near the Abbey.
Used to get some great lock-ins and served free fish pie at 2am.

We were there last Sunday and the Sunday and Monday the week before when it was the Regatta. Fabulous place probably my favourite place in the UK. Got two free golf tickets for the Arnold Palmer golf we both rang the bell last weekend

The famous bell. Remember my parents freaking out because we rang it. Went round again. Then both rang it again. It was dark on the way home.

Heard that from others that Scarborough has hit rock bottom. Especially the old hotel on the South cliff.
Have you ever been to Staithes? Went there in May. Got buggered by the private parking company that operates there. 90 quid fine for leaving 2 minutes late.
Which was upped to 110 as it was a hire car.
Apart from that a nice trip though.

Once called in not much there same as Robin Hoods Bay. Still very very nice scenery.

Scarborough is nearly at Morecambe levels. Full of druggy's and drunks and the town centre has fell into massive disrepair. Like you said the Grand Hotel (Britannia Hotels) is fucked but that is no Suprise with them cowboys running it.
