It's usually unwatchable, especially in the early rounds.
I would prefer a pairs tournament with just the top 64 players.

I'd prefer having 4 team squads like they have with the WDF World Cup and combine a few teams.
Something like:
England
Netherlands
Germany
Scotland+Wales
Ireland+Fake Ireland
Rest of Europe
Asia
Rest of the World
Something like:

Even if the standard is usually not that good, the variety and the different countries aspect makes it enjoyable for me. Even if a game is shite, it doesn't drag on for long because of the short format. A pairs tournament would be nice I guess but I don't think it should replace the WC. They should have teams representing Asia, North America, etc. That would help trim the fat a bit.

Having 4 player teams just means the big nations, especially England are going to have a huge advantage. Every country can find 1 or 2 half decent players, but 4, not a chance. Even an irrelevant darts nation has a chance if they have a Paul Lim or a De Sousa. That adds to the unpredictability and the variety of the current event.

Not a bad idea in theory but completely takes away the point of the event imo. Like it or not, the World Cup is strategically important, just like the World Series are. You can criticise them all you like but they are here to stay because the PDC have their own reasons. I don't give a crap about the World Series personally, but just because I don't enjoy it, I don't throw ideas around to reform it, or to even better, scrap it. People who say the latter are pretty short-sighted.

Yes, I do. Champions League is also strategically important with the BBC contract. Though it certainly has its faults, the production in particular was pretty bad last year. As for the Masters, it potentially could do with an overhaul, I don't think it really offers anything that another PDC tournament doesn't. However, neither of them should be removed. The CL to me is pointless as it is just the top 8, who the majority have played each other twice already in the PL,
The WC and WS are promotional events to showcase darts around the world, and are very important to the PDC.
I wish that they could do something more with the WC, but I am not sure what would be the best wsy to do it
