It'll be a shame if Baetens doesn't win a card.

But he can always earn one via the CT.

He will be defending his title. Not sure if that is good or bad.

Success is about displaying your good-ness at a time of someone else's choosing and on their terms. I don't like it either but there it is. 'Deserve' is just some nice story.

Deserve has got nothing to do with it

I would like 4. Other types of players will suffer excessively if it goes too high. It's extremely important not to punish players who lose their card by locking them out for a year, plus not everyone can commit to the whole challenge tour.

A wide open Q-School across a single week has so many benefits. Unfortunately it feels like it's murdering high flyers on the Challenge Tour. I hate that, but they're all good enough to cut through it. They do every year. They're doing it this week.

Maybe donate the 2 Dev Tour spots to the Challenge Tour, to make it 4. Does the Dev Tour need to offer cards?

Yes
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

The 2 tour cards spots are necessary as an incentive to play the development tour. Without that incentive there, I think we'd see less players on it.

They used to offer a card to the Nordic/Baltic tour, but Viljanen rarely used it and they stopped. None of the top players in the regional tours would disgrace themselves on the main tour, but it's a question of whether they'd use the tour card obviously

Look at Haupai Puha on 5 points, bloke is potentially turning his life upside down (or right side up?), if there were far fewer cards available at Q-School, would he bother? The Yanks in Milton Keynes already have it hard enough, we shouldn't make it significantly harder for them in order to satisfy British or Dutch jobbers

Damon Heta said something similar, I seem to remember, after he won his card. He wasn't quite that rude though lol.

It's tough shit if you happen to come from nowhere and end up finishing 3rd on the Challenge Tour, but CT high-flyers at least get top-up spaces on the ProTour, a 1 year card if you will
