A bit of a punt I admit, but I clearly got that wildly wrong. May I remind everyone that you said Duzza would never win a major/premier event.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 24, 2020 10:47 pm Just a reminder that Halloween Jack predicted that Wayne Warren would make the last 16 of the GSOD.

MvG- Really don't know about him, he's been lacking for a long time now, it's not just that he's off form, but even this week when he started to get back to something like his best he bottled it badly. Still, it's the Worlds, we might see a different beast
Wright - I’ve a feeling he will go out early- agreed, just lacked that spark this year. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if he swept all before him to win
Cross - Very unlikely- will probably scrape his way to the last 16 before getting beaten comfortably
Smith - Not got the bottle to get over the line imo
Aspinall - I just think he lacks something to win a really big one-maybe, got the bottle, but I'm not sure he has the game, yet at least
Wade - can't see him doing too much at the Ally Pally, he's never liked it much there
Anderson - I'm sure he'll be bang up for it, can see him go far but won't win it
DVDB - Outside bet
Jose - Don't see him winning, but could go deep
Devon - could do with a good run at the Players or else he'll have a tricky third round tie (assuming he wins his second round tie). Dark horse, but winning it would be a stretch
Duzza - Hopefully will be back to something like his best, the more contenders the merrier. How long does it take to recover fully from Covid? That's the million dollar question...

Very tough to call this time I'll say Wright gets his second one

It’s been a crazy year all round, with some unexpected winners this year. Who knows, we may get quite a few of the top seeds tumbling out early which could mean somebody could sneak through the back door and win???

Re: Who will win the worlds?
Bookies odds (betfair)
MVG 7/2 (Probably about right but wouldn't be backing him)
Price 5/1 (Cant argue he has had a good year but has struggled in the worlds before should be a little bigger for me probably swap him and Wrights Odds)
Wright 11/2 (about right had a up and down year but suits the format would probably back him at this price instead of MVG at his)
DVDB 14/1 (again good year at tv tournaments but 14s is ridiculous absolutely no value should be 25s)
de Sousa 16/1 (again cant argue with his GSOD win but the bookies have overreacted probably 25s again is about right)
Aspinall 16/1 (Poor year played a bit better at Slam and likes the worlds 20s would be about right)
M.Smith 18/1 ( Found a bit of form recently but unfortunately as we all know has bottle problems capable of a deep run but not winning about 25s would be fair again)
G.Anderson 22/1 (ridiculous odds should be 50s on how he performed this this year)
Durrant 25/1 ( Probably would of been right price 6 weeks ago but things have changed rancid winter series and slam really could see him losing early about 40s would be right)
Petersen 25/1 ( I like Devon but this price is ridiculous decent form but no form over a elongated format 40s would be right)
Wade 28/1 ( Dont like him but is playing well and suits the format would have him same price as Aspinall)
Chizzy 40/1 (about right same worrys as Smith )
Cross 40/1 (could be 400 and I wouldn't have a quid absolutely terrible has been for 14 month could and probably will lose if gets bad Draw first match)
Ratajski 40/1 ( De Sousa has achieved what Ratty hasn't a tv title both a very similar and perform to the same standard Ratajski has had some bad draws at the worlds again price is probably right maybe should be a little shorter at 33s)
White 66/1 ( NO FUCKING CHANCE)
Whitlock 66/1 (Cant argue with his form but seems to get to a stage then chuck a dead rubber in would of been 150/1 in the summer price now is probably right)
Mensur 66/1 ( Again like Mensur but his form is terrible and by the time the worlds come isn't going of played for 6 weeks probably should be 80s or 100)
Clayton 80/1 (can safely say he will not win the worlds should be 150+ )
Clemens 80/1 (Gabe has got a great game in him but always finds a way to lose on tv not a good sign also his worlds record isn't great Lost to van de Pas last year probably should be same as Clayton 150+)
Gurney 80/1 ( Out of Form terrible year 4th round would be achievement but is capable in this format 100/1 )
Heta 80/1 ( Good price this not saying he will win it but as an E/W or Quater betting could be good value how he is 80s but Petersen is 25s is baffling)
Cullen 80/1 (had some good form but will no doubt lose to a similar calibre player should be 150/1 again)
Humphries 80/1 ( No chance 150/1 plus )
JDZ 100/1 ( again terrible form isn't going to change in 3 weeks 150/1 )
Dobey 100/1 ( No chance silly odds)
A.Lewis 100/1 ( Again baring a few good days at the winter series has been rancid all year however does seem to step up at worlds should probably be priced at 50s or 66s)
DVD 100/1 (again really good year a 3rd round or 4th round would be a good result but should be 150/1
Rest of the field 150/1 or more
MVG 7/2 (Probably about right but wouldn't be backing him)

Re: Who will win the worlds?
MVG showing signs of coming back to form, between him and Price, i doubt you will get a big price on Jose as an outsider, unless you put a bet on a few weeks ago..

Someone will probably tear down the PC Finals this weekend and everyone will go oooh they'll take some stopping at Ally Pally.
But it will be a better indicator that they've burnt through their hot streak early and will get nowhere at Ally Pally.
There's logic here. Somewhere.

Re: Who will win the worlds?
Well he's had a healthy collection of TV QFs over the last two or three years, including twice at Ally Pally.
I wouldn't back him regardless, not even with words. But then I won't back anyone... well. I don't know. A Wade-Lewis final with Lewis finally drawing level with Wolfie and Duzza on 3 big ones.

It will be between Wright and Price. Can’t see past either of these two if Wright stops pissing around with his darts.
Fancy Adrian Lewis to have a decent run. Showed glimpses in the winter series and if he gets past Shitters in the PCFs it will fill him with some confidence

Just for you, Rogg. Since they moved the PC Finals to December.Rogg wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 9:01 am Someone will probably tear down the PC Finals this weekend and everyone will go oooh they'll take some stopping at Ally Pally.

PC Finals Winner + WC Result.
If not the same, World Champion's PC Finals result in brackets.
2011 Painter - Last 16 (Lewis DNQ)
2012 Taylor - Winner
2013 MvG - Winner
2014 Anderson - Winner
2015 MvG - Last 16 (Anderson L16)
2016 MvG - Winner
2017 MvG - SF (Cross SF)
2018 Gurney - Last 32 (MvG Final)
2019 MvG - Final (Wright L64)

Nice one Captain. I remember that it was once considered a 'thing' to win both. MVG and Anderson won their first world titles on the back of winning the PC Finals.Captain Hobo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 9:39 amJust for you, Rogg. I find it highly unlikely that it will happen this time around, as I don't see anyone stringing it together in back to back TV events. Price and Wright have both done it this year though, I think, so... well I know nothing.
