Not sure anyone really rated him. Think he is well liked by fans as was Young. Being liked by fans as an underdog doesnt mean they are over rated. I would say Paul Lim is in the same basket with Butler. Had one amazing accomplishment (I don't count that soft tip shit) fans like them for years. Are they anything more than a first round threat at the worlds? Not really and I think that pundits would agree with that.

The Bald Eagle will always be one of my childhood heroes. Him winning the Matchplay might be one of the best achievements in darts, beating Taylor and the like despite being a huge underdog. And his story will always give hope to American players that nothing is impossible. He is sadly unappreciated in today's darts, despite being one of the elite players of his time.
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

He was only ever overrated during Lakeside, during which he suddenly became the greatest American player ever.

Apart from his Matchplay win, didn’t he reach the final of the masters not so long ago?

I can't find the version which has the Ando-Klaasen 9er at the front and cuts to a man laughing his head off at the end. Anyone got that? Maybe Fiss or someone.

He looks a bit like the BTK serial killer Dennis Rader.

Won a PDC major so statistically a better player than Adams.

Always thought Ray Carver would be the best player from the US but fuck knows what happened to him.
