Martin Adams, an all-time great?
In the 15 games that Spineless played on route to his 3 "World Titles", this was the standard of his opposition.
0/15 averaged over 95.
4/15 averaged over 90.
11/15 averaged below 90.
Adams's averages over these 15 games:
4/15 averaged over 95.
11/15 averaged below 95.
Other than 2010, where he averaged in the mid-90s throughout most of the tournament, he mostly averaged in the early 90s over these 15 games, usually around 90-92. At no point was he in the top 3 in the world either. Truth be told, he probably wasn't even top 5 during these years.
In short, Martin Adams, along with Duzza and Headshaker, is the most overrated darts player in history.

Still better than Rod Harrington. Achieved far little over a longer period of time considering the level of the BDO so he's more of an 'all-time' great than someone who was a dominant force in the shadows of only Phil Taylor for a much shorter timeframe.

Nobody says that Harrington is an all-time great though, do they?
Adams would have also been in Taylor's shadow in the 90s had he competed in the PDC.

He is an all time good but not great but deserves credit for his achievements and longevity

Gwynne claimed that he was one of the best players he had ever seen.
Mardle also rated him in his top 10 players ever above Lowe.
There was also this Tweet of his.

The only thing Martin Adams is great at is laughing at history.

Bobby George and Ted Hankey are musts for a top 10 in any darts-related list. Seriously. Tell me a top 10 darts list these names wouldn't fit in.

Mardle.
But again, Gwynne and other have said similar things.
Here is another list where he's ranked in the top 10 - https://sportsshow.net/greatest-darts-players/

It’s an opinion just like yours, I cannot believe anybody would get upset about it. Any all time great list is subjective anyway.sennafan24 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 5:56 pmHeadshaker above MVG and Bristow ffs.Randall wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 5:52 pmRidiculoussennafan24 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 5:51 pmMardle.

I think the top 5 picks itself in my opinion, the order you could maybe tweak.
Taylor
MVG
Bristow
Barney
Lowe
I’ve seen Adams in top 10 lists, I don’t agree personally but I would think he warrants top 15
Barney is a top 5 shoe in which I think many would agree with.

I’m a massive Wade fan but even I had to double take when I saw him at 5 I have seen this poll before.Randall wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 5:52 pmRidiculoussennafan24 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 04, 2020 5:51 pmMardle.
