Not just 5 different winners, but 8 different finalists. Clearly the Matchplay is the hip new version of the UK Open.

2x 2019 Q-School Lucky Dip winner!

Still wish u or Bournemouth had stayed up ahead of the Midlands Mags
Sigh, our defense has been so so bad for so long, never really improved there, and we paid the price. Oh well, reckon we can bounce back!

Apples everywhere.

When was there last a winner of a big PDC event as startling as this? I'm struggling to think. They keep saying he was 100/1 if that's a guide for anything.

Cross winning the Worlds ?

Aspinall at the UK would have been long odds

Cross had a great season though, Aspinall maybe, Thornton I'd say when he beat Taylor in the UK Open? He was 125/1 I think at the start of the tournament, maybe 150/1 with some bookies

Thorn coming up with a very unique way to pull there.

Cross was getting tipped to be 2nd or 3rd fav before the worlds by some pundits and forum memebers, i wasn't shocked when he won, his scoring at the time was very heavy.

Wade,Aspinall Gurney, all good players but not seen as a big fav before winning their recent majors but Dimi is a bigger shock for sure.

Before those Thornton.

He hasn't come from absolutely nowhere to win this given his TV record, but yeah, this is probably the biggest shock in recent years. He's always shown flashes has Dimitri, but had also shown himself to be a lot more erratic than the likes of Gurney and Aspinall were before their maiden TV wins. Well now, those two have kicked on fairly well (with the odd speedbump here and there), needless to say I hope Dimitri will join them in being genuine threats for tournaments on a regular basis now

Refreshing to get a new major winner. Not much left in the Anderson tank.
