That makes for dire reading
Losing to beaton is just plain embarrassing
He rarely ever wins a game at the worlds.
Unlucky?

2003: First round (lost to Dennis Harbour 2–3)
2004: Second round (lost to Darryl Fitton 1–3)

Amazingly, from the PDC list, he's only lost to 1 person twice in 15-16 years. And as mentioned earlier (and multiple times) he should have beaten Lewis in 2012.

And Wade was at his best in 2007-2012. (We'll excuse that semi final against Lewis)
Had the misfortune of running into Taylor all the time.
But then, who didn't?
Due to Windgate, Wade has got to be the unluckiest player to never win a world title. If they don’t go off the stage, Wade beats Lewis and I’m certain Wade would have beaten Hamilton in the final.
Sure, if Windgate doesn't happen, he becomes world champion, but Lewis had to cope with it too, and he didn't just completely implode. IIRC, after Wade missed those match darts, he didn't win a single leg, and I don't remember Lewis going into turbo mode
It was Lewis who was remonstrating not Wade. It was after the break where Wade went off the boil.

He was unlucky regarding the windgate episode. For a player of Wades talent and standing in the game, his record at the worlds is poor and hard to fathom.

Think Dimi can do it, i didn't fancy Smith to hold up his doubles % and he didn't, think the same with Gary.

Negative vibes in Gary's interview afterwards so think if Dimi can get ahead of him he will get frustrated.

PS How people seriously have Wade in the Top 10 players ever is a joke, you have to win the Worlds to be an all time Great, simples, and frequently the true greats win it more than once.

I still rate Wade over many "world champions".

Duzza, Adams, Beaton, etc.

Are you telling me Keith Deller is a better player than James Wade?
You cannot just base it on world titles. James Wade is the third most successful player in the PDC, let that sink in. The only two players who have won more happen to be the best two players ever to throw a dart.
Wade did it in the toughest era also. You only have to look at polls online to see Wade in the top 10
One poll had him 5th ( even I don’t agree with that, he would have to have a couple of world titles to be in the top 5

My top 10 would look something like this:

Taylor
Bristow
MVG
Lowe
Gary Anderson
RVB
Priestley
Wilson
Bob Anderson
Adi Lewis

So aye, agreed.

Randall if Wade won multiple world titles you would probably say he scrapes your top 20 😉
