I recently replayed the two console games i could never beat when i was super young. Crash Bandicoot 1 and the original Rayman. Mannaged to beat crash 1 at last, 20 years or so after i first tried, but still couldn't beat Rayman ffs

Had both games as well.
Rayman was on PC but wasn't really a fan.

But I also completed Crash 1 recently. But couldn't when I was a kid either.

I swear rayman was made for the explicit purpose to make kids feel like they are bad at video games. Completely fucking impossible.

My brother played it more than I did.
Not sure he ever completed it. And we only completed the original Crash using the cheat codes. I remember the days of going to ASDA or Sainsburys and looking for the PlayStation magazine that would have the codes in. Then just ask my Dad to write them down for us.

Had both of those games too (well, Tekken 3)
Didn't really like Driver and never played any of the others after the first. Love Tekken though. Yoshimitsu is my favorite.

Please don't tell me that you fall into the same category as my Dad and say "You're not controlling that! The computer is doing it for you", regarding the games of today. He'd say that even when I'd be playing games on the PS2

I'd respond with: "Yes, and this one has more than two buttons and a joystick for the controls."

Someone recently made an AI that creates an adventure text game as you play it, so that every time you start it you get a new story. My favourite example of it was when the player chose a fantasy setting and decided they were going to be a prince called Andrew. The AI as if by magic created a story that ended up with Andrew becoming a Wally rapist. Wonder how it worked that out.
