What Darts should I buy?
So the Darts that came with my board are obviously muck
I obviously can't go to a shop to try them out. I'm not serious at all, just a bit of fun at home, but there is no fun playing with crap.
I want to get a half decent set, but don't want to be spending stupid money, was thinking up to about £30. Tungsten is obviously the way to go and from what I read the higher % the better. But does it make a massive difference if they are 80% or 95%?
then I see this page which talks about flights and shafts etc. Is Aluminium the best or what should i be looking for. this guy seems to be looking at higher priced darts to my budget.
https://dartsharp.com/dart-equipment/da ... ner-darts/
what about dart weight, heavy or light.
eg if i upped my budget for something like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/CUESOUL-Grams- ... RydWU&th=1 how do i know if i should be getting the 26, 38 or 30gms?
anyone care to give me any pointers or tips please?

Re: What Darts should I buy?
First tip, ignore that article, they are talking a lot of crap.
Those darts they are suggesting are not awful but they are certainly not what I'd buy as a beginner. You should be looking at a straight barrel ring grip dart. Weight should be 22-24 grams. The ones you linked start at 26 which is too heavy for a beginner.
The tungsten content does matter but anything above 85 is good. There's no great difference between 90 and 95 for example.
Look at this. It's straight, 22 grams, ring grip and 90% tungsten. And it's only £20. You can spend more than that but don't expect to get a "better" set.

Forget about aluminium and buy nylon shafts. It might be a good idea to buy a kit like this to see what length of stems and what shape of flights you prefer:

thanks thorn, good to get a bit of feedback like that and just what i was wondering re weight etc
can i ask what the difference between aluminium and nylon shafts is. do nylon seem a bit cheap?? those shafts in the kit say polycarbonate, is that different again?

I found that aluminium shafts come loose out of the barrel a lot. They're a lot more durable than nylon but for me, they're a pain in the arse.

Aluminium is more durable indeed but they can bend, in which case they are useless. Pain in the arse sums it up. They also affect the balance of the dart as they are heavier. I'd steer clear of them, especially as a beginner.
Polycarbonate is similar to nylon but it's a bit better quality and stronger. Target Pro Grip shafts are pretty good. But you can't go wrong with the cheapest nylon shafts either. Some people have found that Target shafts pretty much never break for them, especially when using a flight punch. It's about trial and error.

Your flights don't come off the stem if you use this

Make sure they have points, you know, the sharp bits on the end which stick into the board.Seve OB wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 12:33 am So the Darts that came with my board are obviously muck

No, they are not separate from the barrels.
Check out the Designa range on Dartscorner, they have a lot of cheap darts. These for example.
