If this is the end then thanks for the entertainment .
The farcical way this once proud tournament is conducted in 2020 is the absolute fault of the current heads of the BDO and the predecessor.

Wasn't a bad final, maybe my expectations were very low, but I enjoyed it. A decent display close enough to keep it interesting and some fine scoring along the way. I lost interest early on in this event but watched a few matches. Glorious to see Mitchell make a mess of things. Always enjoy the Warty first round exit. Glad Mikuru won it and good to know the Trophy will have a nice permanent home in Japan.

Re: O2 Side Room Festivities 2020 (Jan 4-12)

Reminded me of the Robin Hood bit from Holy Grail.
"Brave Sir Derek ran away.
("No!")
Bravely ran away away.
("I didn't!")
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
("I never!")
Yes, brave Sir Derek turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
("You're lying!")
Swiftly taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the brave, Sir Derek!"

180! pages. And as it's not a BDO production we've been able to see them all.

Re: O2 Side Room Festivities 2020 (Jan 4-12)
overall very good tournament - the crowds I thought were very good from Friday onwards.
one thing on the final - it went on a bit. either cut down on the breaks or make it best of 11 sets like it used to be. I also think the PDC final would benefit from a shorter final, so this is not just criticism of the BDO.
oh and did any of the players get paid ?

Fuck off with using last night's atrocity to say the PDC Final should be shortened.Steve wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2020 10:28 am overall very good tournament - the crowds I thought were very good from Friday onwards.

PDC Final needs to stay at Best of 13, and on the off chance some sort of televised Amateur World Championship takes place next year, best of 5 sets for the Final will be plenty.
