Re: 2020 Worlds - Averages
Thanks gentle. 95.34 for the Last 32.
More than two points higher than last year (93.31) and played over a few more legs this year (395 v 383).
Possibly the first time it's tipped into 95+. The 2018 true averages are unknown to me.
2017-2010: 94.85 93.98 93.40 94.41 92.82 91.97 91.96 91.45

Re: 2020 Worlds - Averages
Underwhelming standard in the last 16, down even on the last 32, which must be pretty rare

Bunty chinned it. The only other time it has happened (in the stats I have) was 2013. The Newton-Walsh disaster saw to it that year.

Re: 2020 Worlds - Averages
Lower than last year, though at least we had two halfway competitive games rather than the high-quality processions we had last year. Would dearly have loved some quarter-final classics in the mould of MvG-RvB and Cross-DVdB two years ago, can't have everything I guess!

Re: 2020 Worlds - Averages
Plenty of good QF memories. Mardle-Taylor in 2008 my favourite. Glued to it. A harder world today tho, don't see their 92 averages allowing it much of a life.thegentle wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 12:13 amLower than last year, though at least we had two halfway competitive games rather than the high-quality processions we had last year. The Nicholson v Wade QF in 2009, on the other hand. A solid gold disappointment. Dave Lanning called it 'monstrous'

Re: 2020 Worlds - Averages
Oh, I enjoyed almost all of that tournament, I believe that was my first introduction to a certain Mr Suljovic, and there were shocks aplenty! Didn't see too many monstrous averages, and I of course would have liked a more competitive showpiece, but you can't have everything, eh?Rogg wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 12:44 amPlenty of good QF memories. Re: 2020 Worlds - Averages
Wade's whole 2009. An 88 tournament average and got within 2 sets of making the final. Ye piss. At least he binned Eccles and the criminal Dolan.thegentle wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 12:46 am'Alexa, show me Wading'Rogg wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 12:44 amPlenty of good QF memories. (96.34) Michael van Gerwen 6-3 Nathan Aspinall (92.04)
I know and remember nothing so let's guess. The worst semi-final stats since the night Shepherd beat Mardle.

Re: 2020 Worlds - Averages
Still more drama than MvG-Ando last year. Smith-Aspinall was a good game, seems a long time ago that version of Smith turned up...

Re: 2020 Worlds - Averages
Guessing who'll turn up when is half the fun. I hate it. Smith-Aspinall was indeed very good. I was happy watching MVG batter Anderson too tbf,
