ok gonna get slated but here we go.........i had my last bet one month ago.i have gambled everything away the last 20 years,especially more so last few years it became a real problem, begging and borrowing to fund a addiction, i made a pact to myself last month that was it, i gave up drink 9 years ago so i know i can fight a addiction.....other than snake blowing 250 k of someone elses money is there any body else here who has fought this?

My advice would be to get better at it. If you're backing a decent amount of winners and making a few quid, it takes away the inclination to punt for the sake of it.

No slating here mate, was there twenty years back. I sorted the bills as homeless wasn't an option then ducked an dived to survive. Was lucky in one way I had very decent money coming in but that only meant I gambled more.

My weakness was bandits and I still play when I'm away but only on big money machines. I can allow myself a few hundred quid stake wise and throughout this year I've been lucky, am up a fair few hundred quid. Next year could be a different story.

I honestly hope you come out the other side of this mate but it aint easy

cheers, snake is probably right but its all or nothing with me so i will abstain, i am basically broke and in debt now but feel i have my sanity back and a bit of dignity-i intend to chip away and work extra to try and pay back as much as i can, other than that i cant do much more at this point.

The key to staying of gambling is to not have a bet when you do have money it's easy to feel sorry for yourself when you are broke etc but harder to remember how it feels when you have cash to bet again .
