Hes not taken the Chippenham Town comparison well.
Bigging up players then refusing to criticise them when they throw shite, instead demanding sympathy because they are only The Little People after all. How terribly predictable by that guy.
Credit to oche for holding up the BDO players to higher expectations.

I can't remember the BDO players after three sessions being 11-1 down. This has to be the worst ever performance

Feel the same, poor performances so far from the BDO players.. I hope, Suzuki can cause some damage tonight...

Hopefully this years GSOD proves to the PDC the BDO shouldn't be in this event. No indication that this is a one year blip for the BDO, way more evidence that this is a continuing trend right into the shitter. Lets be honest the PDC had to force the invitation of 2 women and Glenn on the BDO to even get some sort of excitement and promo value out of having the useless BDO players there.

I've always thought the bdo should stay in the event but this year has proved its finished and time to give the 8 spots to
Asia tour winner
Scandinavia tour winner
Challenge tour winner
Development tour winner
Down under tour winner
American/Canada tour winner
2 spots for a qualifier for non tour card holders for every country that doesn't have a separate tour
Or something similar I honestly believe
Ilagan
Labanauskas
Rydz
Evetts
Heta
Campbell
Something like de Dekker/Koltsov
Would of been better

Indeed mate.
There was a time when the BDO did add value to this event but that time has long gone. When it's the women that create the interest it's no more than novelty value.
The PDC could fill this with deserving qualifiers from PDC events, and bin the floor event

Yep make sure every major winner and ru are in with every Euro tour winner and pro tour winner in that order and if there still places then do what I said above or then have a floor qualifier

Suzuki will probably beat Dimitri... I'm not sure if that wouldn't just pile more embarrassment on the BDO tbh.

I think the BDO should be in this event, but with different selection criteria. Maybe offer some wildcard places that the PDC could choose. I’m sure everyone agrees that Scott Waites should be here. It’s not like he had a one off fluke here. He has been runner up and a semi finalist and he is basically a part time player. What’s happened to that Unterbuchner bloke? He got to the QF last year and looked a decent player.

The PDC is literally choosing the players, that's what's happening. Unterbuchner hasn't played too many events this year so he's not even in the top 16 of the rankings. He may be heading to Q-School next year.
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

I thought it was the BDO who set yo their selection criteria.
A maverick selection I know but I would have liked to have seen that lad that won the BDO world youth title in the grand slam. Isn’t he about 14 years old and Rob Cross is his mentor? He would have been an interesting selection and would have created more publicity for the event.

That's how it formally is, but this year it was pretty clear that it's actually the PDC dictating the terms. Otherwise the BDO would never have chosen Durrant.
As for Bennett, he didn't get in because of safeguarding reasons. And it's right, a 13 year old should not play in a major event. There's a reason every PDC event is for over 16s. Also he didn't really do anything to qualify on merit.
The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.
