I don't see Mensur being there either. Seems to have lost his form, certainly in the big events. Wright is still more deserving of a place than him in fairness.
Price is more likely to be in it than Gurney at this point, so is Wade I think as well.BeppeBergomi wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 8:56 pm For me the 10 as it stands are:
GARY ANDERSON
ROB CROSS
GLEN DURRANT
Michael van Gerwen
Nathan Aspinall
Dave Chisnall
Peter Wright
Michael Smith
Daryl Gurney
One from James Wade/gerwyn price/Mensur Suljovic

I agree Vermin will be in but the 2 big ranking tv tournaments matchplay and Grand prix he has gone out first round
Yeah, forgot about that! Provisional world #2 in January, has a bit of a cushion over #5 so he'll be there barring a disaster
I agree and it's what made me look up his ranking earlier. He's been shit the majority of the year.SuperSwede wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 2:15 am If he wasn't top 4 so auto qualifying (unless they change that rule too) I don't think Smith would be deserving of a place. A major final on it's own isn't enough to merit a pick and he's done nothing else of any note.
Nah, he's definitely in the top 10, as of yet anyway. Made the UK Open semis as well.SuperSwede wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 2:15 am If he wasn't top 4 so auto qualifying (unless they change that rule too) I don't think Smith would be deserving of a place. Funny, he had one of his best results all year with an injured leg, yet has done almost fuck all for the rest of the year while healthyThe Thorn wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 7:55 amNah, he's definitely in the top 10, as of yet anyway. I wouldn't say he is overrated as his talent is undoubted but i think he has had better runs in big events than his play has merited. In all his deep runs a lot of things have fallen his way rather than him blowing through fields. The Thorn wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 7:55 amNah, he's definitely in the top 10, as of yet anyway. He did have a smoother path to the finals of the Worlds and the Matchplay than anticipated, although did play very well when the supposed underdogs (Aspinall would have come under this at the time) took the game to him. He's had a very strange time of it recently, some excellent runs, but absolutely fuck all else apart from itSuperSwede wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 6:01 pmI wouldn't say he is overrated as his talent is undoubted but i think he has had better runs in big events than his play has merited. I think if given even money odds there are 10 or more players i'd happily take against him.
On current form, possibly. I didn't even mention the Worlds final but that's another point, even though it'll be a distant memory at the time of the selection. At the very least, it proves that Smith is considered one of the top players. He's hardly a Whitlock who fluked his way through to a major final last year.SuperSwede wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 6:01 pmI wouldn't say he is overrated as his talent is undoubted but i think he has had better runs in big events than his play has merited.
