Durrant as a full-time PL player in his debut PDC season like he's the second coming of van Barneveld? GTFO, seriously. And the "well, he'll never be good enough to make it into the PL the regular way" justification is just the worst, given the aforementioned low-charisma charge that's been levelled at him for the last few years. What are his relevant attributes to deserve such selection, then? And before anyone brings up his three Lakeshite titles - hell, even Durrant himself doesn't appear to think that those count for anything re: the PDC. People would be sick of the Sky drones talking about it like it's a big deal by the third hour this Thursday.

No one has suggested he is Barney Mark 2 ffs

People have requested him to be involved in the PL due to him being 3 time BDO world champion (yes he mentioned split field Yadda yadda) but to win sokeginv3 times on the trot is a hell of an achievement

Zeyes I know this as upset you as much as the Hamil hate mob but Hearn isn’t stupid. He knows the draw Durrant had at Q school (amount of people interested in him) & he even commented on Durrant gaining a Tour Card and Praising him

He is only in for one week. Stop crying

sokeginv3, indeed.

BTW, since we know that reading isn't your strong point (what is?), I'll just highlight that I'm not "crying" about his one-week guest stint, or even being upset at all. One of my first posts after Anderson's exit became known suggested Durrant for such a guest appearance, you know.

How many Durrant losses on the Pro Tour is it gonna take until you lose interest in white-knighting for him post-switch? I'm guessing about seven, your normal attention span being what it is.

When did the sokeginv3 championship take place?

Lets have a look on Wikipedia...

"The Sokeginv3 Classic is a Category A ranking event held by the BDO. It takes place in the rec hall of a disused Soviet military base, Sokeginv 3, 20 miles South of Chernobyl and is regarded by many as the 3rd most important event on the BDO calendar".

So did Victorian Freak shows. The Elephant Man John Merrick drew shit loads of money, so does he deserve a spot?

Can you imagine 16 weeks of him and John Henderson on prime time Thursday Night!

Isn't BIG THROBBO from up by Newcastle somewhere? Should have had him as a guest player, seeing as his fan club has turned up already.

He's from closer to Newcastle than Dobey is, and how many wins against MvG on the biggest stage of all does Dobey have? Robbo was robbed!

Ridiculous decision not to involve the legend that is Gary Robson. I'm not watching tonight, in protest.

thegentle wrote: Thu Feb 07, 2019 5:31 pm Wouldn't it just be fitting if the contenders go on a mad one and beat everyone?
I'm sure someone will be showing the Contenders on the league table to see how they've doing as a collective.

As a point of comparison, in Anderson's first 9 matches last year, he won 3 drew 3 lost 3 and was 5th...
