Absolutely howling at the thread over the road suggesting that the Jap lady winning means there will now be a darts boom in Japan, all because self-proclaimed Japanese darts expert Paul Nicholson said so.
An interesting development in this thread now as it seems like the "expert" on the Eurosport coverage has never been to Japan in the first place

Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Although Tony's post deserves bookmarking, too. Wonder how well that's going to age. He's fallen for the hype coming from Far East darts companies more than once before.

Tommy Thompson having another meltdown like it's 1995. Mace and Nicho are "PDC people" who shouldn't be spoken to, apparently.

Just going by what Zapp said over the road:
I see Tommy has made a complete tit of himself on BDOF this morning arguing with mace about the way the EDO was portrayed at lakeside.
Coming out with the usuall "our side, their side" "why does x happen on the PDC" "des is great" ...............
and ends with saying Mace and Paul are "PDC people" and shouldnt be spoken to

Exactly the point. During the youth final the comms were mentioning various youth initiatives but didnt mention any the EDO were doing. Tommy took to Twitter and had a rant.
Lo and behold, the very next match, Mason started to mention them. Clearly been reading it.

Oche: One step at a time he [Durrant] might not get a tour card
Ginge: If he had entered Q School 3 years ago and someone had claimed that you would be seething. Can't imagine why your opinion changed....
Ginge reaping, there. Majestic.
And anyway, if any Lakeside players do win cards, it's not a reflection on their ability because Q-School is nothing more than a massive lottery.

Cue Dean Reynolds storming to victory on day one and Duzza failing to win one

He's remarkable. A few years ago when anyone dare suggest Jamie Hughes would not win a Tour Card, he was throwing his toys out the pram calling them cunts and Twits and everything.

The first time he ever used the word "lottery" on TSoD...

Gonna go against the grain here, wouldn't call Q-School a lottery, and of course if you can't make it, it's your own fault, but it's a lot harder than a few years back and a few decent players will undoubtedly fail to make it. There should definitely be more cards rewarded for consistency over the year rather than one good weekend (not that this would be of any use to lads fresh from the BDO though)

If you're a good enough darts player, lottery doesn't even come into it. You'll get through because you're a good enough darts player.
If you're relying on kind draws, the better players being knocked out early so you don't have to face them yourselves later on or hoping your solid but unspectacular aggregated results over the week might be just about good enough to get you through the back door then yes, it is a lottery but no, it isn't in any way an excuse or justification for your failure.

For all the things I disliked about Taylor and to some degree MVG & Gary Anderson they never cared about who they were playing that is what makes them elite players
