Coincidence all this started around that time he had the spat with Gaz? Fair play to him he's not making excuses or being entitled like some of the top lot have done when the Premier League wasn't there for them, just seems to have accepted he might have to go to QSchool and do it the hard way

Probably is a coincidence, as his career was already on the way down when the Gaz spat started.

I don't think he ever recovered from letting the 9-3 lead slip against Whitlock in the 2013 European Championship. Until that point that tournament was the best he ever played on TV. Hasn't reached that level on TV again, and floor form has declined steadily as well.

That's a shame, so he's wasting at least one more good year in the BDO. Especially as a German player I'm sure he would do well if he switched. Seems like Waites' remark that 90% of the top BDO players will go Q-School is way over the top.

Tried in one event but failed to qualify. I think you can only do 2 events a year without having played Q-School or something like that?

Is it only for Germans? Székely hasn't tried q-school yet, still participated in all of the Eastern European qualifiers.

The rule applies to the Western European and the host nation qualifiers. So the Nordic/Baltic and Eastern European qualifiers are fine. Makes sense because not too many people from those regions would be playing Q-School so the qualifiers would be empty.
