Meulenkamp and Noppert on the rise.

Steve Lennon—who said to me last year in Riesa that a chance to qualify for the Grand Prix in Dublin was a motivation to switching to the PDC—now in a tentative Grand Prix qualification spot.

Chizzy played so well that week, pity he couldn't close it it in the end with a few doubles missed.Rogg wrote: 2013 - Phil Taylor def Dave Chisnall 6-5
Aye, the first round is a bit of a lottery.Father Rout wrote:The double in and best of three in the first round makes this unmissable regardless of who's playing.
Ten highest World Grand Prix one-match averagesa massive zebra wrote:Apparently the record for the highest ever match average at the World Grand Prix is held by Alan Warriner of all people! 2003 final. I remember sitting about like a twat when it got to 2-2 in sets thinking woof this be a 13-set classic like their world final. Taylor then went 3-0 3-0 3-0 out of nowhere. He stopped missing. I think he didn't like Part being world champ.Randall wrote:Taylor did a burst of ten legs in one of the part finals that will likely never be bettered.

He kept going off 160,unplayable and on boards massively less friendly than mvg is playing on.Rogg wrote:2003 final. Took 13 years for somebody to break that and set a new record average in a WGP final. MVG, in the 2016 edition, was sensational all the way. The final with Ando was mental and the semi-final with Chizzy was fantastic too. MVG on fire, Daaave sticking with him as he often does.

(62.76) Brendan Dolan 2-0 Mark Wilton (54.99)
That was the night before Callaby beat Taylor. No thank you.
No idea when the burst of ten legs was, but according to wiki Taylor's record average in a WGP final was set in 2002 and stood for 14 years. Also worth noting that Taylor's record was set in a best of 13 match whereas MVG only just broke it in a best of 9 match.Rogg wrote:2003 final. Right, so the record was set in 2002 and broken in 2016.a massive zebra wrote:No idea when the burst of ten legs was, but according to wiki Taylor's record average in a WGP final was set in 2002 and stood for 14 years.
