They said on Channel 4 during the last "World Pro" that it might be the last one at Lakeside.Randall wrote:Did I miss the announcement about leaving lakeshite??
I swear I read elsewhere that the Jacklins want to move it to Preston.

It's been mentioned as a theory, Des wants to move it there in a multi-event deal with the guy who runs the Preston venue and the Williams want to keep it where it is, hence the infighting.cannibal wrote:Ginge oh mighty rouge one care to clarify?sennafan24 wrote:I swear I read elsewhere that the Jacklins want to move it to Preston.
Personally they would be idiots to move it whilst Bob Potter draws breath. They will lose over 50% of the crowd the moment it moves.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

It's utterly daft really, isn't it? It's not the "World Pro" that sells the tickets, but an old cabaret venue? The Ginge Reaper wrote:Personally they would be idiots to move it whilst Bob Potter draws breath. They will lose over 50% of the crowd the moment it moves.

Where is that Maverick fellow? He has a garage and a dartboard in there already so the BDO can save on the set up cost.Randall wrote:Do you have a mate who has a small garage?cidermaster wrote:I have a rich mate who has a huge Garage, they could play this Event in there, why indeed not?

They also won't find a sponsor to match the amount Potter puts in. Financial suicidewintergardener wrote:It's utterly daft really, isn't it? Any validity to the rumor no contract between Potter and BDO? Also do you think Potter gets a cut of the money for rights and or ad money?
Granted it is the one BDO event that tickets sell and still has some cache for telly. But still is it that much of a money generator for Potters piss palace. Especially as they aren't on the bbc anymore.

If there is a contract the conditions would be that the "World Pro" is held at Lakeside and Potter puts up cash, unless Potter is brain dead and didn't condition his sponsorship.cannibal wrote:Any validity to the rumor no contract between Potter and BDO? Lakeside only generates real cash when they host darts as the rest they offer is putrid. Darts sells rooms, beer and food, I'm sure the BDO gets ticket revenue or a portion of it. They can't be that desperate not to, can they?

Talk about qualified players not even entering the wdt. What's this about Geert? This is going to be one incredibly dull line-up.
From the 2017 omnihowler, we face the loss of Noppert, Hughes, Menzies, Fitton, De Vos and Smith, and potentially Adams. Crikey.
