Both players on a nine darter- what would happen?
Hi everyone, nice forum and I hope you don't mind my first post being a question?
OK so imagine the following has happened. Player A gets a 180, so does player B. Player A gets another 180 and so does player B. Six perfect arrows each so far.
Player A then completes the nine darter and wins the leg. Would player B be allowed a shot at the nine darter even though it wouldn't count?
Has this situation ever happened?

The leg is over when the double is hit.
Been a few occasions where both have been on 141 after six darts that I can recall.

If you have a full team of round the clock carers that spend the percentage of their time wearing gauntlets, the answer is no.Grimmy wrote:Oh dear was it that stupid a question

To answer the last question it has not happened on TV to my knowledge. I think someone was on 181 after 6 when the opponent hit a 9 darter once though.Grimmy wrote:Hi everyone, nice forum and I hope you don't mind my first post being a question?

The truth, however ugly in itself, is always curious and beautiful to seekers after it.

Re: Both players on a nine darter- what would happen?
Many, many moons ago, I recall one of the early PDC tournaments running the "even darts" rule, where the second player would have the chance to complete a leg in the same number of darts as the first thrower. If they'd both hit a 9-dater, the leg was null and void.
Just another refugee from the bad place...
