C4 will extend the contract. It worked well for them last year and they get it cheap as well.

There's little point in pretending to know about their reasoning. Heard it all before with Dave and the BBC. The execs couldn't be happier, the deal is great value, the ratings are strong, etc etc.

I strongly suspect they will renew though. Just seems alright somehow.
