Yes, in 2007. Martin Adams was the only BDO player invited to the Grand Slam that year who chose to play at the World Masters instead.
What a surprise!

Was the first year of the gsod so an obvious ploy by the bdo to try and deprive the players from earning. Olly still in charge then I guess?

Looks like it. The BDO moved the World Masters, which happened to then clash with the first Grand Slam of Darts, forcing the BDO players invited to the Grand Slam to choose to between playing for ranking points or getting more guaranteed prize money.

Love lakeside darts but not going in 2018: our usual tickets have been rebranded "premium" and cost 50% more than last year, plus an increased booking fee. And the booking system and maps were a farce. No wonder so many people have accidentally bought tickets for crap seats.

Oh dear, hadn't realised they had made more "premium", certainly wasn't obvious from looking at the seat maps.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x

Info re seating really disappointing. Seems like lots of standard seats seem to have been to regraded as premium

Due to the stage icon being on the wrong side of the auditorium on your booking page, and the table numbers not being displayed until after booking, I've accidentally booked a table at the back left (57), instead of front right for the opening weekend. Your box office telephone number is not available until Tuesday. Can you please change my booking to table 43 before it gets booked up over the weekend? Why weren't the table numbers displayed to make booking easier?

Sarah Dunn

Just had an email saying there was a problem with the seating plan for the first few hours of sales and that I should call the box office if I'm not happy with my seats,I choose balcony seats as this looked like they were to the right of the stage where the players sit,but now they are showing that they are at the back of the room underneath where the tv coverage is

It's been farcical. Maps are wrong. Some tables cost 50% more than last year. We gave up.

I love watching darts live but not paying £65 A ticket!! They can make enough money on food & drink!! BDO and lakeside getting greedy!!

Alan Coleman
Shame the prices have gone up and there's no hotel packages this year. Me and my mates won't be making the long trip from Newcastle this year for this reason....shame.

Rob Reader

As long as darts was the winner that's all that matters.
