An appeal to "BDO spirit" written by a person who wants nothing to do with the BDO proper anymore, no less. As with all irrational ideologies that don't yield results: It's not that running organizations on "BDO spirit" has comprehensively failed, the real problem is that it just hasn't been tried properly... :?

So what's happened with the 6 Nations broadcast to bring it on all of a sudden? Possibilities:

- the WDO has decided to pitch in with the remaining needed funds
- one of the other orgs involved has decided to pitch in with the remaining needed funds (wouldn't it be funny if the EDO did?)
- Front Runner decided to give them a small extra rebate because the channel is already getting five-figures out of whoever is paying to have yet another pointless "TV" tournament broadcasted
- the broadcast itself was always going to go ahead and Battersby et al. simply wanted to wring some extra money out of deluded BDO fans to (maybe) add some frills to the coverage
- they actually received donations totalling the full amount requested in the funding drive

I guess you'll have to "watch it off" this weekend - just imagine that approximately 7 seconds of the broadcast have come about entirely due to your generosity towards the cause of proper darts. 8-)

One of my fav bdo pics. The cult mentality is part of the problem with the idiots not understanding how business and markets work. They think you should support bdo dart for sake of loyalty. Meanwhile back in PDC Land markets determine what product gets on TV.

Darting dinosaurs over here crying that not enough support for certain events, blaming the consumers is players for events going tits up. Real business finds the needs and wants of the market then meets the demand. They don't blame the consumers.

Village idiots dont even consider that maybe your not getting interest because your product is shit.

I think that some within the BDO/EDO genuinely believe that FrontRunner are going to throw a load of cash at them at random some day thanks to them filling up the weekend schedule without repeats of Indoor League. They have nothing left but hope. No proper channel wants to show anything but Lakeside, and we'll see how true that is next year. It's ok though, it's all Warren's fault. not their own piss poor management.
