Chris Mason It should be the selling point for not only the punters but for the broadcaster, after all its pretty much the home of darts after Jollies. However it would also need some money spending on the place, when we were there for the worlds John Rawling had to be moved as his room was infested with bed bugs and was filthy, most ended up with stomach problems with the beer and or food. But Bob doesnt seem to give a shit about the place and hasnt spent a bean on the place since the early 90's. If they do move out from there then a iconic venue with greta commuter routes/hotels/facilities etc need to be paramount.
They're all here!

And what iconic venue with great commuter routes and facilities is going to be interested in hosting that shit? Lakeside is a dump but it is the best the BDO are likely to get again. Maybe the circus tavern will take pity on them.

True. The circus tavern is only ten years out of date compared to where the PDC is now. The BDO should try 'TheTalk nightclub' in Norwich to accurately reflect how far behind the PDC they are.

Love how casually he comes out with that little lot. Does he have any bright ideas? They probably still have Blackpool Tower booked until 2035 from a previous new era.

I sure hope he used "iconic venue" ironically. I guess they
could start thinking about the Copper Box again...

I was asked why I don't think Lakeshite WC will carry on or atleast at The Lakeshite itself after January. I've had the feeling for a while tbh, I don't know why but my main reasons are that Potter just does not want the darts at Lakeshite anymore. He's said it in my presence and to many others. Not holding Winmau WM and WT there this year too after the success last yr shows the breakdown to me also.
Another reason is I think it's coming to an end is because the deal for TV ends after the next Lakeshite as it was only a 2 yr contract. If it is that Potter has made it clear to the board he don't want the darts at Lakeshite no more then the end of the road will be in January 2018. Bob loves money everyone knows that and for him to turn the darts away speaks volumes. Id hope the WC does carry on elsewhere but the new venue must be properly sought and I mean properly. Hire professional promoters and advertisement - spend some dough. If you're gonna sink atleast sink in style. The players if anyone deserve it tbh.
As weird as it sounds I think it's purely the venue and atmosphere of the Lakeshite that makes that event what it is not the actual competition. Not now anyway. Take the WC away from Lakeshite and I'd worry what would happen in honesty.
Nah don't believe that for a second. Unless someone has done something to piss Potter off.
As I recall there was a fuss between him and the PCUK people

Ah yes but I've heard conflicting stories about all that. Some have said they charity guys were being far too pushy, they were asked to tone it down and got the hump and left.
Big changes on the way ! We've heard it before but it's different this time !!!! , I believe Bdo gonna grow x
