Success though, eh?
All you can do is improve your current position.
The prior regime were stagnant and regressive and allowed it to get into this state.
The current regime have brought back a defunct major, got a lot more events on television and are in the process of getting a multi-event deal with a big sporting television network who have cash to burn.
I'd say that was progress, yes.
Have you actually seen what they put on TV? The fag end of a few floor events is definitely a huge backward step as it's no advert for darts of any kind apart from a fairground stall.
Also why with all this progress are the top two seeds fucking off along with another couple from the top eight? Is that progress as well?
Green's the 16th seed if you want to get technical but I see your point.
There's nothing they can do if people want to switch codes. The problems were created by the old regime refusing to move with the times.
All they can do is put on more events with bigger money so that in a couple of years the Greens and Wilsons of that time are happy enough where they are. That's what they're trying to do.
Eurosport's coverage isn't particularly good but it's a starting point. If they can get their bigger events on BT Sport and keep the coverage of Opens on Eurosport it'll be a good thing.
No one is really watching Eurosport darts apart from real fanatics.

It's all relative. From midway through the last 32 at Ally Pally it was very good. The problem was it took 10 or 11 days to get to that stage from the start of the event.
The first round was long and boring. Of the 32 matches there may have been 5 or 6 which were entertaining. The rest of it was either uncompetitive or shite. All this while Sky blatantly lied to people's faces about how good it was, tried to whitewash Ted Hankey and Paul Lim from history and took a six or seven minute break after nearly every set.

The standard throughout was far better than lakeside whichever spin you want to put on it.

fact
The last 64 of the pdc was better than the last 64 of lakeshite, yet pdc was shit but bdo with a lower average was not
Same again happened in the last 32 where the pdc was far higher than the last 32 of the bdo
again the pdc was shit but the bdo was not.

Utter horseshit.
The last 64 were of a higher overall standard than Lakeside so far, that's without taking into account when Ally Pally really kicked off. As for the comms have you listened to any of the shit spouted this week?

From an average perspective yes.
It's relative though. The first seven or eight days at Ally Pally weren't up to the standard that the PDC usually puts on TV. Even the PDC fans on here were saying "wait until the last 16/32", which is basically acknowledging that over half your tournament falls well below expectations.
On the other hand, the BDO don't have as many good players but their tournament has been better than pretty much all the recent Lakesides. As such, it has exceeded expectations.

Ok, I think I'm starting to get it. Because it's marginally above the totally dire expected standard it's actually good.

So your saying this is shit compared to ally pally but not quite as shit as last year's lakeside so it's better than ally pally?

Success is relative.
If they have more televised tournaments and their games are of a better standard then that's success.
