Only in Ireland
A DEFENCE Forces bomb disposal team is assisting Cork Gardai after a suspected pipe bomb was discovered.
The device was found by a man out walking this morning in the Togher area of Cork.
He became suspicious of the device because of the wires sticking out of one end.
The man unwittingly brought it to Togher Garda Station – totally unaware of the potential dangers posed by the device.
Part of Togher Garda Station was immediately evacuated when the garda on duty realised what the device resembled.
The Defences Forces were alerted and an Explosives and Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team raced to Togher Garda Station to deal with it.
It is expected that the suspected pipebomb will either be defused or destroyed by controlled explosion.
Gardai are investigating whether the device may be linked to the escalation of a long-running feud in the Togher area between two rival groups.
Last Friday, a petrol bomb was thrown at a house in Togher in what is suspected to have been an attack linked to the feud.
No-one was injured in the incident though a woman, the sole occupant of the house, was deeply shocked by the attack.
The incendiary device was thrown at the front door as she sat inside watching TV.
A small fire broke out but did not spread beyond minor scorching to the front door.
The woman contacted gardai after hearing a loud bang by her front door and then spotting flames through the glass.
Three units of Cork fire brigade attended the scene but the fire was extinguished within a matter of minutes.
No major structural damage was caused to the house.
Gardai attended the scene but no arrests were made.
They are treating the matter as a serious case of criminal damage.
“We are treating this incident as very serious and it could easily have ended in tragedy,” a garda source said.
Gardai have appealed to anyone who spotted suspicious activity in the Togher area between 11pm and midnight on Friday to contact them.

Been a while since I was down South. Must take a trip some day soon for the fun of it. Strange things happen do indeed happen in Ireland.

Re: Only in Ireland
Nothing surprises me when it comes to langer land.
One year I got a bike for my birthday. So I went peddling off down the road and knocked an old lady down.
'Can't you ring your bell?' She said. 'I can ring my bell,' I said 'But I can't ride my bike'

A fucking joke http://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland/ir ... 30529.html
Any other country in the world which drove out thousands of its youth every year would prevent the causes of this situation but not the brain dead Irish government.

Re: Only in Ireland
I have no objection to Ireland taking in immigrants.
My problem is the number.
Percentage wise to mits national population Ireland takes in more immigrants than any country in europe.
White people will be in a minority soon, they think the UK and Italy has it bad this place is worse, and its in the middle of a recession where our own people are struggling
The UK are right saying enough is enough, the same should happen here, time for these cunts to sort out their own problems
