Re: England are gonna win the world cup in 2018
has anybody seen a team yet you'd have fancied england beating?
certainly not ghana or germany yesterday, not argentina and not really iran.
all the south american teams have looked strong, and the africans make up for their failings with spirit.
only the really shit european teams like spain we might have had a chance against and the useless hosts on the evidence so far.

He also spoke of the bigger picture in regard to money and how it affects young players priorities when it comes to internationals

He should probably have named these players though. I don't blame them myself. The club pays your salary, not the national team. I can't think of any other industry where a business would have to (and they do have to, otherwise Fifa can take action against the club and/or player) lend its most valued assets to another business for no compensation and no guarantee that the "asset" will return intact at the end of the "loan".

That's legendary. I remember watching it with my brother and we were too stunned to even laugh at it. Realised that no matter how shit England were, they could always get worse.Darth Randall wrote:as shit as we were, and as funny as it is, it will never top the opening of this, love motsons comms

The discussion after the match could have taken place at any time in the last 20 years or so.
Jimmy Hill's prediction of having better coached youngsters, and therefore a better generation of footballers to replace the likes of Carlton Palmer and Geoff Thomas didn't quite turn out how he thought it would, did it?
