Doner card
No not a loyalty card at your local kebab shop.
Does any of you lot have one in case the worst should happen? My mum and gf have them and have given their consent to surgeons etc to use anything they can.
Whilst i know it's for a good cause i just dont like the idea of someone else having my mums eyes or my gf's liver etc and them being literally gutted.

Re: Doner card
I agree entirely with the doner scheme as once we're dead we don't need the organs. Why not allow them to benefit someone else and improve their life?

I don't carry one and don't know a lot of people who do. Personally mate at the moment I believe when you are dead thats it so the removal of any body parts of kin doesn't trouble me.

If there's anything salvageable, they're welcome to dig it out of me.

Oh i know it's a good cause and all, and i'm technically not against it. As long as it's not me or my family being picked at or else i wont get my moneys worth at the crematorium.

Doner card
It should be mandatory.
You should carry a card if you don't want them donated.

I carry one now, but if Mr Cameron does what he wants to do with the transfusion service, I'll be opting back out!

Re: Doner card
As much as I disagree with most of Cameron's ideas and beliefs I think he's got this one right Mr P. It's gonna be easy enough to opt out if I've understood it correctly.

I think you've got me wrong MH, I'm on about private companys been brought into to the blood transfusion bit of the NHS. Its privatisation by the back door and all those that give blood ( I cant) will be lining the pockets of the fat cat bosses - then it will be doner part next!M H wrote:As much as I disagree with most of Cameron's ideas and beliefs I think he's got this one right Mr P. Sorry mate, I did misunderstand what you were getting at. If it goes down that route you wouldn't be the only one pulling out on principle.

Re: Doner card
I carry a donor card as do the rest of the family. It's a personal choice and should remain that way.
One year I got a bike for my birthday. So I went peddling off down the road and knocked an old lady down.
'Can't you ring your bell?' She said. 'I can ring my bell,' I said 'But I can't ride my bike'
